MD of Yamaha Motor Racing Lin Jarvis has confirmed to motogp.com that negotiations are in progress to have the Spaniard and American as the factory team pairing for next season, following confirmation of Valentino Rossi’s departure at the end of 2010.
The Italian has spoken to motogp.com about the reasons behind his decision to make the switch to Ducati for the 2011 season.
The official MotoGP test at the Czech circuit ended at 3pm local time as the weather closed in, with Jorge Lorenzo remaining quickest thanks to his lap time from earlier in the day.
The one-day test at the Czech Republic circuit got underway in sunshine on Monday and by the 1pm break local time Jorge Lorenzo had recorded the fastest lap, as the MotoGP class set about working on their prototypes.

After a crash in qualifying at Brno that resulted in a chipped radius bone the Ducati Team rider’s sixth-placed finish in the Cardion ab Grand Prix Czech Republic provided important Championship points.
